Who started Lawn Pros?
Lawn Pros was started by Bart Musselman. I am the owner. I was brought up in the green industry since my parents had a greenhouse in Cardiff, California. They also had me mow the lawn at our house. My mom and dad would get me out there mowing since I was about 10 years old so in a way they helped me get started. My dad would buy us a lawnmower and go out there and show me how to start it and mow the lawn and empty the bag and everything. My mom would crack the whip and make sure it got done on a regular basis. With that background, I was ready to make some money so I got out there on my bike and found people with lawns and their own lawnmower and I was on my way to having my own Lawn Care San Diego business and eventually used the name Lawn Pros.
What was the goal with starting Lawn Pros
The goal with starting Lawn Pros is to provide the best gardening service around. We want to be the best there is. We have worked very hard to get to the point we are at. I like to help people. My favorite thing is to help solve problems and thats why we are so successful. A good gardening service always has a routine. Without a routine goals wont be met. I also like to have a good company. I want Lawn Pros to be the best it can be so it can provide a great work environment for everyone involved. Not a fly by night company. The goal is to have enough customers to have a company that is strong and able to provide a good life for everyone involved. This includes me, the owner, all my employees, and all my Lawn Care San Diego customers, and charity too. It is a win win no matter what. The vision is to grow grow grow so we are large enough to do a lot of good.
When did Lawn Pros Start?
Lawn Pros originally started in 1989. You could say it started in the early 70’s if you include all the weeding I did in the hot summer sun in Scottsdale Arizona. I was out there in the desert pulling weeds when I was only five years old. My brother and I were in charge of keeping our desert landscape weed free and that was a chore. We did it from about 1970 to 1976. Then, in 1976 we moved to California where is was green everywhere and plenty of lawns to mow including our own. I started mowing that lawn in 1976 and continued well into my teens. By the early 80’s I was mowing other peoples Lawn Care San Diego . I got my parents truck from the nursery and once I was 16 years old and could drive I took it to a whole new level. I would put plywood stacked vertically in the bed to load huge piles and take it to the dump. One job I did in 1982 took me eighteen trips to the dump. That was a big cleanup job. When I went to college in the late 80’s, I used my landscaping skills to help pay for school. That led to the current business Lawn Pros. I became official in 1989 and have been doing landscaping full time ever since. It has been a great career of over 35 years and I can truly say I love my job.
Where does Lawn Pros Service
We service North County San Diego. The cities we go to include Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Carlsbad, Leucadia, La Costa, Escondido, Encinitas and Cardiff. We will expand to other cities in the future. This could be sooner than later. We already have jobs all over North County San Diego. It is a great area to work. We have a lot of homes we provide Lawn Care San Diego services to along the coast. This is a climate in and of its own. People dont realize how many climates there are in San Diego alone. Even in one city there can be several micro climates. A lot of factors go in to this. You have all kinds of different exposures. The fog from the ocean typically comes in a few miles on a regular basis and creates an overcast that changes the weather there compared to a few more miles inland. So you are getting a lot of sun in Vista for example where it is just far enough inland that it never gets the overcast climate. In fact, Vista has one of the best climates in the world because it is situated the perfect distance from the coast. Not too far and not too close. Oceanside on the other hand has a large enough area on the map to have several micro climates in it. Real close to the coast is much cooler than parts of Oceanside that run along the eastern border. Carlsbad is the same way. When you get to Leucadia, and Cardiff, these are beach communities so you get a lot of gray overcast days especially in May and June. They call this May gray and June gloom. Once you go inland, you start to experience the heat and the hotter climates as well as the cold. Close to the coast you get very little freezing or frost. The extreme heats are rare too. But San Marcos and Escondido have both and so on. We can go just about anywhere in North County San Diego and love to cover a large territory.
Why
Landscaping is my passion. I have become really good at what I do. My career has be great and I love my job. So many people dread going to work. I am most fortunate because I enjoy going to work. It is something I look forward to. People are so happy to see me because they know I can help them with their lawn and their plants and flowers and trees. I have learned so much over the years and all my experience helps me solve just about any Lawn Care San Diego problem.
How
I can make just about any plant lawn or grass green. I can really turn things around when it comes to challenging Lawn Care San Diego situations. With all my know how, I will check the watering first. 90% of all problems come from a water issue. So a reliable irrigation system is key. I can trouble shoot just about any irrigation system and evaluate it to find the flaws. Buy the time I am done, the plants will respond to all the water they lacked. Pruning to promote healthy growth is key. I am an expert pruner. Fertilizing the lawn is also key. The grass needs good feeding on a regular basis and we include that.
